For First-time Visitors

Welcome to Café Filament. Here is how to enter on your first visit.

  • Please speak to a crew member at the entrance (during unstaffed hours, please unlock the door using the LINE mini-app)
  • Member registration via LINE is required (paper sign-in is also available)
  • Please take any seat you like. All seats have power outlets and Wi-Fi
  • The Nespresso machine is available for self-service use

If you would like to join a monthly plan, please let a crew member at the front desk know.

Staffed hours: 10:00 – 19:00
Unstaffed hours: 05:00 – 10:00 / 19:00 – 23:00

※ Children below elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian.

Checking in and out of cafe filament is done entirely on your phone — entry, exit, and payment. Here's how the app works, and the system behind it.

STEP 01

Open the app in LINE

One tap from your LINE friends list. No installation or membership registration needed. Your LINE name is used as-is.

STEP 02

Slide to enter

When you arrive, slide the green bar to the right. Your entry is recorded, and during unstaffed hours the door unlocks automatically.

STEP 03

See your time at a glance

Check your elapsed time and estimated fee anytime. No charge between 11pm and 5am.

STEP 04

Slide to exit and pay

When you leave, slide the orange bar. Your fee is finalized, and you can pay by credit card in the app or at the register.

Pick from the left or right private room, check the availability timeline, and select your time in 15-minute increments.

Confirm and pay upfront

Review your reservation and fee, then pay by credit card. Your time slot is secured.

Reservation confirmed

You'll receive a confirmation with a reservation number. On the day, use your normal check-in and go straight to your room.

How it works

Why unstaffed hours work.

So you can relax and use the space even without staff around, four systems work together behind the scenes.

01 — Verification

LINE Login

The app opens from our official LINE account, so there's no tedious registration or password. Your LINE account itself serves as verification.

02 — Recording

Automatic entry/exit logging

Every slide records who entered or exited and when. Fees are calculated automatically from your stay time — no register entry or self-reporting needed.

03 — Door lock

Smart lock integration

During unstaffed hours, the entrance is secured with a smart lock. Only checked-in guests see the unlock button, and the door opens automatically.

04 — Payment

Cashless payment

Settle up by credit card right when you exit. When staff are present, cash or QR code payment at the register is also available.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the cafe without a smartphone or LINE?
During staffed hours, you can check in as a guest using the terminal at the front desk. Just enter your name (a nickname is fine) to get started.
What if I accidentally slide to check in by mistake?
If it was a mistake, simply slide to exit within 3 minutes and it will be fine. To prevent accidental double-taps, sliding is disabled for 30 seconds after each action.
What if I don't have money on me when I leave?
Paying by credit card in the app settles things on the spot. Even if payment is delayed, the app will show an outstanding balance notice, and you can settle it on your next visit or online.
I'm worried about the fee if I stay late into the night.
There's no charge between 11pm and 5am. You can also check your estimated fee in the app anytime while you're here.
